DeNexus, a specialist provider of cyber risk quantification tools and software, has announced the hiring of George Mawdsley as the firm’s first Head of Risk Solutions, joining from his most recent role at ILS manager Securis Investment Partners.
Mawdsley had worked at insurance-linked securities (ILS) specialist Securis Investment Partners LLP for a decade, with a focus on the origination and structuring of reinsurance-linked investment opportunities.
Prior to Securis, Mawdsley had worked as a Lloyd’s Special Risks Underwriter at Hiscox in London for just over three years.
He now joins cyber risk focused DeNexus at a key time for the cyber insurance-linked securities (ILS) market, given the emergence of 144A cyber catastrophe bond activity this year.
As Head of Risk Solutions at DeNexus, Mawdsley will report into the CEO and founder of the firm Jose Seara and have a focus on developing next generation risk transfer solutions for the cyber insurance and ILS markets, leveraging DeNexus’ cyber risk quantification and management platform DeRISK.
